Abstract
Stanhopea panamensis N.H. Williams & W.M. Whitten is described from central Panama. The species is closely related to the species group that includes S. oculata and S. wardíi, but it differs in lip morphology, flower color and odor, and polllnators. A key to the Stanhopea species of Panama ís presented.
