TYPE: Panama. Chiriquí: without more exact locality, alt. 1900-2000 m, collected by A. Maduro and E. Olmos, cultivated at Finca Dracula since 2000, flowered in cultivation in Wilmington, DE, 6 December 2003, V.N.M. Rao 161 (holotype, MO; illustration of type).
