Distribution: Endemic to Costa Rica.
Habitat: Epiphytic in premontane d wet forests, around 1500 meters of elevation.
Etymology: Lepanthes, from the Greek lepis, "scale", and anthos, “flower”, in allusion to the diminutive size of the flowers; elvirae in honor of the author’s wife, the neurobiologist Elvira Salas Hidalgo.

Distribución: Endémica de Costa Rica.
Hábitat: Epífita en bosques premontanos muy húmedos, alrededor de 1500 metros de elevación.
Etimología: Lepanthes, de las palabras griegas lepis, “escama”, y anthos, “flor”, en alusión al tamano muy diminuto de las flores; elvirae en honor de la esposa del autor, la neurobióloga Elvira Salas Hidalgo.
