Abstract. A new Gongora is described from Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador, a region of considerable interest to both tourists and orchidophiles. The new species, G. aceras, resembles the Colombian G. gratulabunda in the total lack of "horns" on the lip, but it is readily distinguished from the Colombian species by the straight "claw" of the lip and by the different attachment of the claw to the hypochile.
